We have an opening for an Optometrist to join our busy well established medical and optometric practice in Gurnee, IL. This opportunity comes with competitive compensation and personal satisfaction.
We are looking for an energetic, friendly and highly trained individual who enjoys exposure to medical/surgical and optometric patients. Full scope optometry with a variety of patient encounters including primary eye care, refracting, contact lens fitting, medical and post-operative care. Supported by an excellent and well trained staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions
- Conduct routine eye examinations
- Determine each patient's visual acuity, field of vision and hand-eye coordination
- Take detailed medical histories for all patients, including current and past prescription medications
- Evaluate eye-related symptoms, such as discharge, redness, and inflammation
- Prescribe corrective lenses when required (glasses and/or contacts)
- Refer patients to board-certified ophthalmologists when required for more holistic eye care
- Educate patients on proper eye care
Licensing: Current state issued license for optometry (O.D.) in Illinois
Full-time: 36-40 hours per week
Part-time: 16-20 hours per week
Experience: New graduates welcome
Pay: $89,786.28 - $175,000.00 per year
