Maintenance Worker - Part Time
The Eye Associates/Eye Health America is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. We have six locations from Sun City Center to Venice including a surgical center. Job Summary: This person will undertake upkeep and repair tasks of the interior and exterior of the company’s 10 buildings premises. This person should be well organized with strong, general repair skills. Currently, job averages 25 hours/week but anticipate growing to 30 – 35 hours/week. Hours are flexible, however, much of the work is after 5pm and weekends.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Respond to manager requests for maintenance services
- Repair plumbing and electrical issues as required
- Repair and/or replace bulbs, tubes, etc., for interior and exterior lighting.
- Identify and report the need for major repairs
- Weekly walk-through of ASC mechanical room
- Research and provide guidance on maintenance outside scope to get quotes and select vendors.
- Maintenance of vans (take for oil changes, service, etc.)
- Minor painting and wall repair
- Repair appliances and equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot issues and present repair options for larger issues
- Cabinet installation
- Coordinate outside vendors for maintenance as needed
- Assist with moving equipment
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems required
- Good communication skills
- Well organized
- Good problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to uphold company standards for safety and efficiency.
- Valid Florida driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Able to work on a ladder
- Able to repeatedly lift 50lbs.
