What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Press Brake Operator position at FABX, LLC?
FabX, LLC currently has an opening for a CNC press brake operator. We run fully loaded Bystronic Xpert press brakes incorporating high precision tooling and off-line programming for the overwhelming majority of our parts. First and foremost, operator will need to be driven to come to work every day and be on time. From there a knowledge of bending with an ability to read a general print or pdf, use a protractor and calipers, and read a tape measure are necessary. FabX generally works with stainless, aluminum and mild steel in the area between 22ga and .375” in thickness. We build to very tight tolerances and set our operators up to be able to attain those tolerances. A desire to help manufacture high precision / high quality parts is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Learn procedures of start-up and shut down of machines
- Learn to use the machine for forming parts – understand different axes, tooling, etc.
- Read and understand print or pdf and use that knowledge to form needed parts
- Load appropriate tooling to form needed parts
- Measure dimensions and angles on parts and make necessary adjustments to ensure high accuracies
- Desire to grow your knowledge in the press brake area and be confident to run on your own over time
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- CNC press brake control experience a plus
- At a minimum, an understanding of press brake and forming operations (even on different types of machines)
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to read and understand simple prints
- Ability to handle simple math when needed
- Ability to use common sense and follow instructions
- Ability to cross train and work in other areas as needs arise
- Ability to get along with coworkers on all levels
- Ability to drive forklift is a plus
