Delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms and resident condominiums according to Faena specifications, courteously and efficiently. Also assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment. Courteously and efficiently answer In Room Dining phones, take and input guest and residents' orders; ensure receipt of orders by Servers and settle checks in the P.O.S. system according to hotel specifications. Process payment of guest and residents checks in accordance with accounting requirements and maintain accountability for all financial transactions
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended and resident relations at all times.
- Resolve guest and resident complaints, ensuring guest and resident satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in In Room Dining service.
- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices.
- Maintain complete knowledge of guest and resident room layout, locations and room numbers/names.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Maintain knowledge of Point of Sale and manual systems.
- Complete opening side duties as assigned:
- Check quality and amount of all Room Service stock and supplies using checklist.
- Fold/stack Room Service napkins.
- Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to In Room Dining.
- Set tables and trays.
- Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service.
- Prepare all cold food items (cereals, fruits, salads).
- Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in In Room Dining area, rectify any deficiencies.
- Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest and resident use.
- Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on table/tray.
- Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards.
- Transport tables/trays from In Room Dining area to guest and resident rooms, ensuring all standards of food presentation are maintained and that no spillage occurs.
- Set up and deliver amenities to designated rooms.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas, guest and resident rooms and guest and resident corridors.
- Clean and reset tables/trays, maintaining sufficient supply in the In Room Dining area.
- Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
- Complete closing side duties:
- Properly store all reusable goods.
- Breakdown all goods.
- Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties.
- Restock items for next service.
- Remove all dirty linen; fold napkins.
- Marry and stock all condiments.
- Reset tables/trays.
- Complete all closing report

Maintain complete knowledge of:
- All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in In Room Dining. The particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.
- All menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
- Daily menu specials, out of stock items.
- Guest and resident condominium room layout, locations and room numbers/names.
- Manual system procedures.
- Daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIPs.
- Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times
- Take guest and resident’s food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following all departmental standards
- Ensure accuracy of guest and residents name and room number of each order for delivery.
- Access all functions of the Point of Sale system in accordance to specifications. Restock journal tape and change ribbons as needed.
- Input orders into system and distribute to Servers; ensure authorization for room charges. When system is down, obtain manual checks and follow all Accounting procedures.
- Ensure timely set up and delivery of orders.
- Organize, document and track pick up of dirty trays/tables; direct staff as required to retrieve dirty trays/tables.
- Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.
- Accommodate guest and residents requests for change courteously.
