Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates the recruitment and placement of interns/volunteers within the CSB system, including identifying agency/program needs, promoting available opportunities, crafting role descriptions, interviewing applicants, and ensuring suitable matches.
Administers and supervises all CSB interns/volunteers across Fairfax County locations, oversees onboarding procedures, manage intern/volunteer relations, conducts regular check-ins, and handles administrative tasks.
Maintains compliance with CSB, county, state, and federal policies, and regulations, managing database files, overseeing the renewal process, and ensuring adherence to procedures.
Tracks performance indicators related to CSB services, including creating evaluation surveys, conducting intern/volunteer exit interviews, analyzing data, and reporting on performance metrics.
Facilitates communication and partnerships with private and public sector partners to enhance programming associated with interns/volunteers.
Promotes retention by overseeing appreciation and recognition initiatives for interns/volunteers and employees partnering with the VIVA! program.
Manages and coordinates appreciation and recognition events/initiatives as needed.
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:(Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, liberal arts, education, or personnel administration; plus two years of professional volunteer services coordination experience, including recruitment, selection, and/or placement of volunteers.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid motor vehicle driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) maintained throughout employment with CSB.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.
Additional Work Schedule Requirements: May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least four years of work in program management, volunteer management, or a related field preferred.
Experience working in a clinical and/or higher education setting.
Previous work experience with adult learners.
Event planning and management experience.
Strong organizational, project management and communication skills.
Experience with motivating, engaging, and leading teams.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel to various sites; lift 50lb boxes of materials/supplies; use keyboard driven technology; and communicate clearly orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
