COMPANY OVERVIEW:
We are an expanding yacht management company with a Yacht Account Manager position available at our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The standard of service that Fairport Yacht Support (FYS) offers owners, captains and industry professionals is time tested by our team of experts who have extensive experience in industry safety standards, technical logistics and financial administration and one that competitors look up to in this luxury sector marketplace.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Main priority is to provide financial administrative support to the Yacht Captain and Owner. Duties include, but are not limited to general clerical, bookkeeping and accounting, payroll, A/P, management of crew-related issues, project-based work such as refit and charter accounting. Interact and report to third party representative, (i.e. Captain, Owner's Rep, Owner. To reflect and maintain a professional company image whether in-person, through telephone interaction or when attending industry related functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Initiate and supervise the set-up of Credit Cards for Captains
- Liaise with the Yacht Technical Manager daily to review vessel and crew issues
- Convey systems and financial procedures to new Captains
- Prepare quarterly Financial Reports providing commentary for Owner's review
- Provide Month End Audits of the vessel's Cash and Credit Card Accounts
- Payroll administration, including knowledge of tax and foreign withholding regulations
- Calculate and pay Payroll Liabilities using EFTPS software
- Prepare and pay monthly, quarterly and annual state and federal tax returns
- Prepare annual forecasts & budgets
- Report budget discrepancies to the captain monthly
- Accounts Payable maintaining strong working relationships with the vendors
- Maintain strong, congenial relationships with Captain and Crew
- Utilize Financial Institution software to initiate Domestic and International wire transfers
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Travel to vessels as needed
- Attend Trade Shows and Seminars when required
- Meet with Owner, Yacht Manager and Captain to review annual budget and any other financial related matters
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Basic office and filing skills. This is normally acquired through one to three years of clerical experience.
- QuickBooks and Quicken Bookkeeping - normally 5-year accounting experience.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
- Acquire knowledge of Industry standards and Lifestyle
- Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook
