The Falcon Fitness Instructor leads a group of participants through a series of exercises. The Group Fit Instructor is responsible for conducting safe, effective exercise classes that exceed member expectations, promote services to attain and retain members.
We are looking to hire part-time Certified Group Fitness Instructors who are dynamic, experienced, and engaging. These individuals will join a motivating and diverse team that prides itself on building relationships and community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Class Instruction
- Arrive on time to prep, set-up and greet participants. Start and end class on time, as scheduled.
- Greet members warmly and enthusiastically and build rapport with participants. Answer questions and maintain a positive exercise experience.
- Plan and develop a variety of exercise routines.
- Lead the class by performing the workout along with the participants who follow your lead.
- Instruct group exercise format according to class schedule and adhering to Falcon standard.
- Greet and encourage new participants and orient them to class.
- Educate participants on proper form, anatomy, contraindications and modification of moves when needed.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and proper usage of exercise equipment used during the class.
- Be available to members before and after class
- Represent the club, staff, and company in a positive manner at all times
- Maintain class statistics and records as directed
- Attend all mandatory department and club meetings and trainings
- Maintain required certifications and complete continuing education to remain current with industry standards
- Replace equipment and organize studio after class to prepare for upcoming classes and maintain club cleanliness according to company standards
- Report safety issues or injuries to Group Fitness Director or General Manager
- Report any equipment or studio issues to Group Fitness Director or General Manager
- Assume other duties as assigned
- Work early mornings, late nights, and weekends as necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and fitness training principles, with the ability to design safe and effective workouts for individuals and groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and engage guests of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels.
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies
- Possess a high degree of energy and endurance to complete each fitness class
- Ability to communicate and connect with diverse group of individuals of all age groups and fitness levels
- Ability to effectively demonstrate skills being taught to participants
- Ability to provide clear instruction when needed
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
Minimum certifications/educational level:
- High School Diploma or GED, from a recognized accrediting organization, such as ACE, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent.
- Additional training in specialty formats may be required
- Zumba, Pilates, and more
- Previous experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must possess current certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED and must maintain certifications thereafter as a condition of continued employment
