JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Peer Advocate of U-Turn 180
REPORT TO: U-Turn 180 Program Manager
EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt- Part-time position
POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide services to adults who have been sentenced to Intervention in Lieu of Conviction (ILC) supervision through the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. The goal is to optimize individual level functioning in the most efficient and effective manner possible, prevent revocation of ILC supervision and prevent future criminal justice involvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer assessment tools that will be utilized to determine program eligibility.
Work with clients to identify meaningful and appropriate community services designed to address client needs and minimize barriers.
Participate in MDT meetings to assist in the development of client service plans and interventions.
Maintain current records in accordance with all recording requirements of Family Service Association.
Maintain monthly statistics and data needed for program accountability and billing for client services.
Work cooperatively with other staff members of Family Service Association, as well as other community agencies and programs.
Facilitate and/or manage the delivery of U-Turn 180 enhancer modules as necessary.
All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Entry-level experience with the above-noted degree and certification is acceptable with appropriate training.
Training and experience providing assessments and group facilitation is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
Capable of conducting assessments of clients.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about resources available to clients.
Work cooperatively with other Family Service Association staff and other programs, community resources, clients, and members of the community.
Must have knowledge of accepted practices, models, methods, and techniques of family, individual, and group classes.
Must be able to relate to professionals from a variety of different disciplines and community agencies.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Must have access to a reliable means of transportation sufficient to carry out job accountabilities and duties.
