What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Lead position at Family Wellness Fargo?
Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for overseeing and conducting all youth summer camp activities. The Camp Lead is also responsible for providing outstanding member service, supervising facility rules, and safety enforcement.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred skills include: experience working with children, basic understanding of safety procedures, excellent customer service skills, professional communication and the ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required upon hire or obtained within one (1) month of hire.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Provides direct leadership and supervision of all youth summer camps. This includes direct daily supervision of camp participants and camp activities as well as serving as a resource to summer camp support staff to assure department objectives are being met; which is especially true at times when the Childcare & Youth Programs Manager is not present.
- Assists with the coordination and maintenance of camp staff schedules and has positive and open communication with staff.
- Ensures safety in youth activities and camps. Tasks would include, but are not limited to, child check-in/check-out, field trip transportation, etc.
- Greets all members and youth participants in a professional manner as they arrive for wellness and camp activities
- Promotes all aspects and benefits of the facility in a positive manner and by example.
- Completes cleaning tasks as assigned and keeps the camp area organized and clean at all times to ensure safety.
- Keeps equipment repaired and functional, informing supervisor of maintenance needs.
- Monitors and communicates with youth in a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive manner and creates a fun environment for activities.
- Assists with planning daily camp activities and lessons.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
BLOOD EXPOSURE
This position has a low risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Training is required upon hire and maintained yearly.
Salary : $26,700 - $33,800
