SHIFTS:

Morning : 7 AM - 3:30 PM ( 2 DAYS OFF DURING THE WEEK )
Evening : 3:30 PM - Midnight ( WEEKENDS OFF )

Job Summary

Sanford Federal, Inc. is looking to hire housekeeping services personnel to provide Hospital Housekeeping Service for the Veterans Affairs (VA), Midwest Health Care (VISN 23) Sanitize and clean environments at the VA. Duties include maintain and perform up-scaled janitorial operations due to COVID-19:

Qualifications:

1. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
2. Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions. Must be able to absorb training and required cleaning procedures quickly.
3. Must have basic understanding of housekeeping duties and the hospital required training.

Duties:

1. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

3. Must understand housekeeping duties and the hospital required.
4. Will be working in COVID-19 environment. Will be handling waste streams to include, sharps containers, biohazard red bag waste, trace chemo waste.
5. Work hours will vary to include weekends.
6. Must be able to work eight (8) hours when needed physically demanding walking standing twisting turning reaching to include pushing pulling or lifting items up to 50 pounds.
7. Will wear required personal protection equipment (PPE)

Specific Tasks:

1. Standards: Aseptic areas apply to all areas within the medical center. Employee will be required to perform Two-Step Cleaning in accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance.
2. There will be cases where a room requires a “COVID-19 terminal cleaning” in the case of discharge, an isolation room, sick patient or otherwise. Upon request from VA staff, the staff shall perform a terminal clean to affected areas.
3. Trash Removal: The employee shall pick up and empty all trash or waste receptacles. Waste will be deposited at established waste collection sites/holding areas at the facility for waste hauler pick up.
4. Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) ‘Red Bag’ Bio-hazardous: All receptacles lined with "Red Bags" (plastic bags containing bio[1]hazardous medical waste material) shall be serviced. The Contractor shall pick up the Red Bag waste and deposit it in specially designated, locked "infectious waste" bins or designated holding areas in a safe and timely manner, and in accordance with established standards and procedures. NOTE: Red Bags may not be used for any other purpose. Under no circumstance will red bag waste be co-mingled with any other types of waste
5. Recyclables: The employee shall pick up and empty all recycled collection receptacles and deposited them at established holding sites.
