Job Title: Security Guard.

• Location: Yakama USPHS Indian Health Center, Toppenish, WA 98948

• Schedule: Five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Job Overview:

The Security Guard position at the Yakama USPHS Indian Health Center is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of occupants, buildings, and grounds, as well as real and personal property. The role involves performing non-lethal on-site protective functions and providing security support services to prevent injury, molestation, and loss or damage. Security Guards are required to patrol various areas inside and outside the clinic, including the front entrance desk, conduct regular walk-throughs, and assist with emergency response and drills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide protection and patrol services at the Yakama Indian Health Center.

• Apprehend and detain individuals until police arrive or escort them off the premises.

• Perform walk-throughs in the building and around the grounds and parking lot.

• Assist in directing patients and supporting emergency response procedures.

• Maintain law and order within the YIHC building and grounds.

• Patrol the premises and grounds every two (2) hours, securing doors and gates, and turning off unnecessary lights.

• Maintain a current list of emergency telephone numbers and promptly summon appropriate assistance during emergencies.

• Adhere to security protocols and refrain from unauthorized use of equipment and resources.

• Follow the assigned working schedule and provide continuous security coverage during operational hours.

• Wear a uniform provided by the employer at all times while on duty.

• Carry a two-way handheld radio for continuous communication with personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Possession of a valid Washington State Security Guard License or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.

• Certification in the use of a Taser gun and handcuffs.

• Good physical condition with the ability to perform security-related tasks.

• Excellent observation and problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Adherence to ethical and professional standards.

• Reliable and punctual.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

• Must pass required background checks, including fingerprinting and clearances.

• Completion of necessary forms and documentation as provided by YIHC HR.
