Your Role:

As the Mechanical Engineer HV Distribution, you’ll be working with some of the industry’s brightest minds to accelerate the delivery of quality FF products to consumer markets. You will be responsible for leading the mechanical design for HV distribution box, development, validation and launch for production

  • Generate completed HV distribution box mechanical design per the HV architecture, design and release full 2D and 3D drawings, including mechanical enclosure, seal, fuse, contactor, sensors, connection system, etc
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering to define the component level requirement and select right sized component
  • Design comprehensive test protocols, qualification documents, test plans and reports for the testing and validation of the HV distribution box and subcomponents
  • Work with supplier to address DFM issues, potential design change and improvement to support the mass production
  • Work on CAE analysis for thermal analysis, mechanical stress to ensure a robust design is achieved
  • Lead mechanical design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R and failure analysis for HV Distribution Box
  • Ensure each system change is appropriately approved, then scheduled and reviewed by stakeholders
  • Ensure hardware release is on time and aligned with company schedule to deliver production ready HV Distribution system design and documentation to vehicle assembly
  • Support HV Harness development to deliver a complete HV distribution system

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • 3 years of experience in HV applications
  • Experience in DFMEA and DVP&R for high voltage components
  • Skilled in CAD tools CATIA and SolidWorks
  • Working knowledge of HV components in HV system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • 8 years of experience in electric vehicle high voltage system
  • Experience with launching HV distribution system
  • Hands-on experience driveline development and testing
