What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Sales Manager position at Farm and Home Publishers?
This territory currently consists of 19 counties in Northern Illinois. We will be looking to add some southern Wisconsin counties into this territory going into 2024. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to this Northern Illinois or Southern Wisconsin area to be considered.
Farm and Home Publishers is the largest rural plat and directory publisher in the United States and is currently seeking an experienced outside advertising sales representative in or around the northern portion of Illinois or southern portion of Wisconsin.
Our ideal candidate will have prior success calling on small to large businesses, professional firms, family owned companies, ad agencies, preferably within the territory we are hiring for. This outside sales position requires strong closing skills and the ability to prospect for new business. 5 years of outside B2B sales experience preferred. Some overnight travel might be required.
This position will primarily consist of daily travel to renew and upsell existing accounts while also prospecting for new business throughout the territory. You will need to be passionate about the advertising and commercial print industries, be self-motivated, and present yourself professionally in person, over the phone, and electronically.

Requirements
- Maintain and grow existing accounts.
- Prospect new business via “cold calling”
- Build, manage, and grow relationships with a diverse client base.
- Be creative by thinking outside the box.
- Help develop ad strategies for clients.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and detail-oriented.
- Media & commercial print sales background is a plus, but not required
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
