What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Quality Technician position at Farmers Electric Cooperative?
Farmers Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for an individual seeking a position that will directly assist in the maintenance and operation of an electrical utility distribution cooperative. The successful individual must have the ability to effectively perform numerous duties for power quality efforts required to ensure Farmers EC members receive optimum quality of power delivered from the Cooperatives electrical system. As a member of the operations department, this position works with a broad range of contractors, engineers, regulatory officials and Cooperative members to evaluate, investigate, and report any potential reliability impacts on the electric system.
The candidate must be organized with the ability to reach all assigned deadline dates and have the ability to carry out a variety of activities which require both a high degree of accuracy and exhaustive knowledge of the inner workings of an electrical distribution system. This position will be required to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in in the design, construction, operation, maintenance and service restoration of an electrical system (transmission, substation and distribution (overhead and underground)). Higher degrees of education in a related field may be substituted for experience.
