What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at Fat Cam's at Garver Lake?
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organize and run our kitchen’s activities.
Responsibilities
- Involvement and control of food preparation process and any other relative activities
- Aid in constructing menus with new or existing dishes ensuring the variety and quality of the servings in this ever changing environment
- Create new and exciting dishes for features (daily, weekly or monthly) as well as the planning and preparation of specialty beer and wine dinners
- Ensure that all dishes are cooked to our standards and are presented correctly
- Handle weekly ordering (knowledge of Sysco products and ordering system a plus)
- Work one on one with owners to improve day to day activities of the restaurant
- Remedy any issues that occur in the kitchen
- Involved in hiring kitchen staff as well as in charge of managing and training
- Scheduling of kitchen staff
- Promote camaraderie, share knowledge and techniques as well as teach and partake in constructive criticism
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience working in the industry
- Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
- Must be able to multitask and think on the fly
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress of staff
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
- Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS, ordering platforms)
- ServSafe certified
- Degree in Culinary science or related certificate is fantastic but not needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
