What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEG Program Scientist position at Father Flanagan's Boys' Home?
Position located in Omaha, Nebraska. Under administrative direction of the Institute for Human Neuroscience (IHN) leadership, the MEG Program Scientist helps support MEG research and clinical programs, including processing of clinical functional mapping data, assisting leadership and physicians in writing and interpreting reports, providing scientific support in analyzing study specific MEG data, and writing manuscripts and reports. Supporting the MEG training mission of the IHN, including a role in graduate student and research assistant training, as well as MEG Boot Camps. Duties to include: Works closely with the IHN leadership to fulfill the needs of the clinical MEG Program; Participates in the implementation and analysis of functional mapping MEG procedures, in the context of epilepsy and brain tumor patients, including assistance in writing reports, interpretation, and attending case conferences; Participates in the design, implementation, and analysis of specific studies, within the research program; Publishes and presents research results, and other material relevant to the research program, in appropriate forums, including refereed journals and national meetings. Trains new faculty on MEG use and safety; Trains graduate students, research assistants, and other staff members in MEG safety, use, and the advanced analytical methods used to process MEG data; Assists other members of the research and clinical staff on emerging problems, to ensure continued progress in both research and clinical domains; Helps maintain and update MEG specific software and computer systems. Doctorate (Ph.D.) Degree in Neuroscience or related field. Minimum of 3 years of training directly with MEG (Magnetoencephalography) and history of MEG research and authored publications.
