Sells FTN's services to increase revenue within an assigned territory. Customers include, but are not limited to, prospective and existing customers who can use additional FTN services, carriers and shippers, trade associations and government agencies. This position includes, but is not limited to, working with the regional sales director to resolve anticipated and unanticipated customer problems in a timely manner and with minimal negative effect on FTN; acting as a liaison with other account representatives and customer service representatives; contributing to the positive morals of FTN sales team.
With little or no direction, attain or exceed designed territory objectives for new and existing customers. Calendar year revenue objective for this position is approximately $750,000 (U.S.). Establish, implement and document a strategy that identifies business potential in territory from assigned key accounts. Obtain, maintain and demonstrate a complete knowledge of all key accounts business and their needs. Obtain, maintain and demonstrate a complete knowledge of services offered by FTN T&B and contribute to the development of FTN T&B service/product literature & sales material. Demonstrate the use of financial marketing and consultative selling. Understand and effectively use all Sales resources available. Play a leading role in developing & implementing strategic and tactical marketing programs to meet and exceed required business volumes. Develop, document and execute a territory management program to develop customer relationships. Demonstrate, and maintain knowledge of customer satisfaction survey results. Call on existing customers to enhance customer satisfaction and focus on ensuring a solid FTN-Customer working relationship. Participate in trade, logistics and transportation associations to ensure FTN visibility. Resolve all customer issues in a timely manner. Involve sales management when appropriate. Use consulting selling processes to gain new business from existing customers/ prospects. Identify opportunities, risks and resources required to achieve revenue objectives. Provide timely and accurate 30/60/90-day forecasts for the respective territory including, expenses, revenue, and new accounts. Obtain materials to maintain industry knowledge appropriate to territory. Contribute to the positive morale of all FTN associates and in particular, the marketing and sales team. Seeks participation in company-wide programs. Provide advice and counsel to less experienced representatives resulting in their increased productivity. Actively participate in training for current sales and marketing teams. Provide annual total sales revenues that equal or surpass assigned quotas which will be at least $750,000 (U.S.).
Bachelor's degree/equivalent. Two (2) years sales experience. Substantial knowledge of int'l trade service w/emphasis on customs regulations and procedures in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as transportation procedures and regulations in the three countries. Good listening and communication skills. Good organization and time management skills. Strong self-confidence to assist in developing territory relationships in a highly competitive and price sensitive environment and to capitalize on "cold call" opportunities.
