Ferguson Architecture is looking for someone to join our fun and award-winning team, voted “Best Architecture Firm in the South Sound” two years running by South Sound Business Magazine! Ferguson Architecture is seeking a full-time ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional setting to join our easygoing and hardworking group. If you like wearing multiple hats, this position is for you! We need an enthusiastic individual capable of juggling design and production at any given time on several projects of different sizes and scales, including commercial, multifamily, retail, hospitality, clinical, and public work. This is an IN-PERSON position that requires being present at our design studio in Tacoma within normal business hours at least three days per week.
Day One Skills and Attributes We Request:
- Solid experience documenting projects in Revit (please share examples)
- Demonstrated competence producing design and construction documents on multiple projects, often at the same time
- Experience working with Project Architects and Project Managers during design and construction
- Growing comfort with commercial building code and land use code research
- Confidence engaging with clients, co-workers, partner contractors and consultants, and jurisdictional permitting staff
- Honed organization abilities and adaptable communication skills
- Curiosity and self-directed problem-solving and research abilities
- Hunger and ambition for career growth – we want you to hit the ground running and ready to learn!
Additional Technical Skills We Love
- Experience working on a team focused on medium and large commercial projects, especially public projects
- Growing ability to run smaller projects on your own with minimal supervision
- Strong graphic skills, including familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Sketchup or Rhino
- Experience with rendering software such as VRay or Enscape
