Asphalt Laborer For Asphalt Company

Overview:
We are hiring general ASPHALT laborers for the 2024 season. We offer competitive wages, consistent hours, overtime pay, paid time off, and benefits which can include: health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and profit sharing.

This is a full-time position and it is seasonal. We start in April/May and work into December (weather-dependent). We do government, commercial, and residential work in Alexandria, MN, and in the surrounding area of central Minnesota and parts of the Midwest.
Drug and alcohol testing will be done before the 1st day of work.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing the job site, setting up equipment, and performing manual labor such as digging, raking and sweeping.
• Assists in the pouring, smoothing and setting of asphalt on roads, driveways, pathways and parking lots.
• Responsible for maintaining asphalt production equipment, including paving machines, hot boxes, and plant equipment.
• Sweep and clean the area in front of the paver; guide the tractor and assist the operator(s).
• Work as a flagger to direct motorist away from the work zone.
• May perform other general Asphalt labor duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Requirements:

• Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
• Constant work that involves:
• Moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another,
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching
• Adjusting, moving and lifting objects in all directions:
• Talking and hearing to communicate with others:
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers:
• Operating machinery and/or power tools:
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment:

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor working conditions (wind, heat, varying weather changes)
• Construction Environment (noisy, hazardous)
• Frequent overtime, including weekends

Pay: $26-$28per hour (Pay is based on experience)

Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
