We are:
Fermilab is America’s premier laboratory for particle physics and accelerator research, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. We support discovery science experiments in Illinois and at locations around the world, including deep underground mines in South Dakota and Canada, mountaintops in Arizona and Chile, and the South Pole!
You will:
- Support line managers, project managers and project teams in maintaining project controls systems (e.g., planning, scheduling, control, reporting, and performance measurement requirements).
- Assist with preparing proposals and developing detailed project controls plans, statements of work, and other types of planning documents.
- Support time-phased budgets, work schedules, work breakdown structures, and cost account plans
- Create workflow diagrams using workflow systems.
- Monitor and analyzing progress of project requirements.
- Contributes optimally within a diverse workforce and upholds Fermilab’s dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline with 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of project controls systems, including but not limited to scheduling with Primavera Project Planner (P6) or Microsoft Projects.
- Ability to support project managers, line managers, and control account managers with the use and maintenance of project controls systems and outputs.
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS), scheduling systems, and cost processors
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to enable effective interaction with project, Fermilab, and stakeholder personnel.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Office, and Visio (a plus).
- Experience working with groups and teams on projects in a fast-paced environment.
Relocation is not available for this position.

- Ability and willingness to work additional hours beyond the normal work day when required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to legally operate cars and light trucks.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally by commercial air carrier.
