Job Summary:
Assist the General Manager of Operations in managing and overseeing warehouse operations. Manage the customer service aspects of the business flow of inbound and outbound products, including critical, promotional, and small wares. Assists in recruiting, hiring, and developing all distribution center staff. Assist in the development of local warehouse policies and dissemination of all corporate policies. Ensure adherence to Federal regulations, state and federal laws, OSHA requirements, and all personnel guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:

Ensures clean deliveries to units.

Performance rating is weighted equally between the following: clean deliveries as measured by invoices:standard=90%; goal=95%. Clean deliveries as measured by pieces delivered: standard=99.7% goal=99.80%).

Thoroughly researches all credits, conducts stock counts, and performs customer callbacks.

Responds to all customer requests within 24 hours. Important issues which cannot be easily resolved are brought to the immediate attention of the Corporate Director of Operations.
Assist the Department Supervisor in recruiting, hiring, developing, disciplining, and terminating warehouse staff.

Maintains employment level at budgeted projection.

Ensure a low level of turnover. (Standard 1 Goal 10%)

Develops a casual warehouse staff to average (Standard 15%, Goal 20%) of full-time staff to always ensure proper coverage.

Identifies and develops potential warehouse management candidates from existing warehouse staff.

Develops quarterly goals and provides written feedback quarterly on colleagues’ performance to goals.

Provides appropriate development when goals are not being met.
Assist the Department Supervisor of Operations in maximizing truck and labor potential.

Strives for 1,000 cubes per truck, for an average load weight of 28,000# during the current business.

The weight of loads is subject to change as business dictates.

Schedules warehouse no less than 40 hours per week and no more than 50 hours per week standard.

Monitors warehouse operations daily to ensure adherence to ideal store processing time.
Manage company and warehouse policies.

Ensures colleagues follow all Ferraro Foods, Inc. corporate policies.

Ensures colleagues follow all warehousing procedures to meet inventory control goals, order accuracy, product integrity, food safety & rotation,

Reviews and approves all warehouse-related invoices and credits charged to warehouse operations.
Manage warehouse shipping and receiving.

Ensures proper inbounding procedures are maintained; stock rotated, product verified accurately, order check accurately prior to loading, and proper P.O. filled out for the inbound product.

Check daily for overdue P.O.’s.

Shrinkage and inventory adjustment cost per case not to exceed (Standard: 0.006999 cts per case/ Goal: 0.003999 cts per case).
Ensures warehouse and equipment are properly maintained.

Ensures warehouse is clean, organized, properly maintained, and free of OSHA violations.

Assists Vice President of Operations in obtaining an “excellent” rating from the LCE Quality Assurance Department and American Institute of Baking (AIB) for the branch. (Standard: excellent rating/Goal: superior rating).

Ensures maintenance of all warehouse equipment and security systems, i.e., doors locked, alarms functioning properly, etc.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Four years of supervisory experience.

Possess basic computer skills.

Knowledge of DOT, FDA, and OSHA regulations.

Excellent communication skills.
-
Good writing skills
Working Conditions: Some distractions due to elements are occasionally present. Working conditions are less desirable than those found in offices.
