This year-round position oversees the Maintenance Department and contributes to preparing the park for the operating season, maintaining the park during operation, and winterizing all aspects of the facility for the off season. Performs duties requiring knowledge of all aspects of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance. We are currently looking for a: Director - Maintenance Roles & Responsibilities: Salary range $85,000 - $100,000 Create and manage daily maintenance budget including operating expenditures, capital expenditures, labor expenses Supervise the full-time maintenance staff and manage work load for maximum efficiency Oversee and manage the security, landscaping, parking, and other seasonal maintenance department employees Plan the major repairs for the attractions and buildings and maintain meticulous records of service work done Maintain facility in compliance with OSHA, NH Dept. of Safety, and all other pertinent and applicable regulatory guidelines Train all necessary employees in their specific job functions and maintain the training log for expiring certifications Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety including daily, weekly, and monthly documentation Oversee all major new construction projects using working knowledge of City of Portsmouth guidelines/restrictions Act as project manager on all capital expenditure projects Complete and maintain all daily safety checks for all attractions and all buildings Facilitate annual safety inspections and take any corrective actions necessary Act as liaison with all contractors/vendors for the maintenance department SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of 7 years of experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory role in an aquatic/recreation facility managing maintenance and water treatment operations Valid driver’s license CPO or AFO certification required or ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment Must have a working knowledge or willingness to learn municipality/city guidance or other governing bodies Strong background in water chemistry, pumps, and motors Familiarity and experience with fiberglass and other water slide structures Strong communications, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as ability to prioritize and respond to multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Reading/understanding printed instructions for chemical use and safe operation of equipment is critical. Open scheduling availability. Must be able to work a flexible schedule with long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands: ability to frequently lift, carry or move items weighing up to 100 pounds, and work outdoors in varying climates including exposure to direct sunlight.
