Job Summary The Coordinator will work with Community Partners, K-12 educators, etc., to oversees student outreach and program development efforts for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Shares with Undergraduate Admissions information on prospective students, creates communications text, and represents the Community Engagement & Outreach at events. Develops and implements a range of events, programs, and services that support the strategy and objectives of FGCU and Community Engagement and Outreach. Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to: Collaborates with FGCU faculty and staff to develop, plan and implement community outreach events, education and engagement programs and activities. Initiates and manages recruiting and outreach by leading recruitment drives, high school recruiting visits and events, advertising and marketing. Works with Enrollment Marketing to creates flyers, handouts, visual aids, and communications that support department events and programs. Coordinates functions related to admissions and enrollment. Collects, analyzes, and maintains data on activities and events. Utilizes Slate and Banner Student Management System to verify students’ inquiries, applications and enrolments. Assists the Director in pursuing and managing external community relationships and partnerships. Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization. Two years of professional full-time related experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook). Ability to travel in Florida. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of professional full-time experience in education, law, business, social science, or related field. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook). Work experience in a higher education setting. Experience recruiting students. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of outreach and academic support programs for prospective students. Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to implement social media campaigns. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment strategies and an ability to manage volunteers by providing information, guidance, and motivation. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects. Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and implement events. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with a diverse group of colleagues, students, alumni, donors, and volunteers. Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
