What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP, Compensation position at Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company?
F&G is hiring for a AVP, Compensation. This role will provide strategic overight and execution of the compensation strategy that aligns to and supports the business by attracting, engaging and retaining talent. This position is also responsible for the oversight and management of compensation administration for the US based workforce as well as the offshore teams. This role reports to the VP, Total Rewards and manages direct reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective contributions to the development of F&G's compensation strategy for US based workforce and offshore teams.
- Oversee the administration of all compensation programs – merit increases, job evaluation, market pricing, promotions, short term incentive programs and long term incentive programs – and develop recommendations for changes and implementation
- Lead all public company filings that require compensation support – financial reporting, proxy, annual reporting and other filings.
- Effective contributions to the development of Compensation Committee materials.
- Deliver a smooth and effective year end compensation planning process annually by driving the communication and delivery strategy.
- Stay up to date on best practices and marketplace trends to support recommended strategies in our approach to pay.
- Effectively partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to deliver effective compensation programs and recommendations and support organization change.
- Lead development of internal controls with respect to compensation processes and ensure complete and accurate documentation.
- Evaluate tools to drive effective compensation processes.
- Develop effective working relationships with Expense and Financial Reporting teams.
- Oversee all compensation reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver on improvements to compensation processes and ensure we are leveraging technology where possible.
- Provide coaching and development to team members.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required with studies in human resources, business administration, or related areas preferred.
- 10 years of proven work experience in human resources (with roles of increasing responsibility) with at least 7 years of compensation-related experience and 3 three years leading a team.
- Experience developing and managing equity plans
- Experience with public company filings.
- HR professional certifications preferred.

- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical, planning and project management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to model our core values: Collaborative, Authentic, Dynamic, Empowered, and Inclusive.
