The Role

In this position, you will be a member of the Fixed Income Trading Operations Investment Services Team and will work extensively with the investment staff including trading, portfolio management and senior management. As a director on the team, you will provide oversight and support for the overall trading process within Fixed Income. This role will assist in enforcing trading policies and procedures and contributing to strategic trading initiatives. The role is essential in maintaining relationships with multiple internal groups who support Fixed Income trading as well as external trading counterparties, vendors, and other industry groups. The individual will utilize problem solving skills, to develop business solutions for complex problems, improve operational efficiencies, mitigate risk and further the investment process.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 8 years work experience in or working with investment operations in financial services industry
  • Knowledge of the institutional and mutual fund investment business, including strong understanding of the money market and bond fund management process
  • Knowledge of fixed income investment process, as well as an appreciation and understanding of operational workflows
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to take proactive initiative are crucial
  • You will need strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills to optimally apply conflict resolution and change management skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with ability to work and meet deadlines independently
  • Effective relationship management skills across numerous strategic business partnerships
  • A keen eye for operational challenges, workflow solutions and risk mitigation
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Your positive attitude and “can do” work ethic
  • True team player mentality

The Team

The Trading Operations team provides high-touch support for the investment process life cycle that requires an acute understanding of the Fixed Income investment process, market conventions, technology applications and operational ecosystem.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
