Field & Technical Services LLC (FTS) is a growing and innovative environmental service provider for several sites across the United States. FTS is headquartered in Carnegie, PA and has expanded with various regional offices. With our increasing workload and client base, FTS has an immediate opportunity for a Wastewater Technician/Operator based out of our Kearny, NJ office.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Chemical batching for industrial waste water treatment.
* Inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine water treatment system operational status.
* Collect and test water and wastewater samples, using field testing equipment and color analysis standards.
* Record and prepare routine reports for operational data on specified forms/electronic data summary logs and spreadsheets.
* Operate and adjust controls on equipment to treat wastewater for inorganic and organic constituents
* Maintain, repair, and lubricate equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
* Clean and maintain tanks, filter beds, process conveyance lines, pumps and other work areas using hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment (lull, fork lift, loader).
* Coordinate plant workers engaged in routine operations and maintenance activities.
* Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems and controls from 12 volt DC to 480 Volts AC
* Assist in all levels of operation, maintenance and monitoring of industrial wastewater treatment facilities
*Key Knowledge sets include use and practical operational/maintenance knowledge of the following: Air monitoring equipment (PID), granular activated carbon and multimedia filtration equipment, centrifugal pumps, chemical feed pumps, air operated diaphragm pumps, inclined plate clarifiers, filter press operation, perform field screening utilizing colorimeters (HACH), conductivity/dissolved oxygen/pH/ORP meters and analyzers.
Power supply system operation and basic trouble shooting, ability to read design/as-built/P&ID diagrams, able to utilize iPad based HMI operational system to observe and adjust treatment system operations. General understanding of supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA systems, general proficiency utilizing desktop computers (Microsoft Office software – Outlook, Word, Excel).
Nature of Work
Duration: Full Time, Regular
Normal Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (Weekend work although not typical, is required as needed)
Working Hour per Week: 40 hour(s) Normal Work Shifts: First (Day) Overtime work will be required.

Education
Applicants should have a High School Diploma/GED and hold a New Jersey Industrial Wasterwater Treatment System (N License).
Experience
Applicants should have a High School Diploma/GED. Candidates who hold a New Jersey N license (N1-N4) are highly preferred. Candidates interested in obtaining a New Jersey N-license are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for tuition reimbursement. Eligibility for a Licensed Operator in New Jersey requires a combination of experience, 90-hour educational course prerequisites and passing the New Jersey N-license Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator exam. Maintaining a license requires completion of continuing education every three-year recertification period or successful retesting.

Compensation is commensurate with successful candidates skills and experience.
