General Function
Responsible for profitable business development of companies with annual revenues at least $20MM and generally less than $500MM within a specific geographic area. Ability to develop trusted advisory relationships with the Senior Executives ( e.g. CEO, CFO, COO) of the prospective companies and Centers of Influence in the community. Proficiency to lead and coordinate with internal bank partners to create and implement a relationship strategy addressing the comprehensive needs of prospects. This position requires an understanding of credit, commercial products and financial statement analysis, in order to offer beneficial banking solutions (e.g. loans, treasury management, capital markets) based on the prospect's needs. This role is expected to participate in community activities, professional networking organizations and industry trade shows.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined by the Bank. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive experience for prospective and current customers. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks and opportunities of all types.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Business Development
- Work independently to identify and develop potential "lead left" client relationships by direct marketing and cold calling, as well as leveraging centers of influence, existing clients and other referral sources.
- Maintain a disciplined marketing/business development approach utilizing the Bank's proprietary data management application to guide all prospecting activities.
- Work closely with Fifth Third internal partners to build strategies that acquire and develop new high-value prospective relationships.
- Attend community and/or specific industry forums, conferences and/or meetings in order to broaden relationship networks, referral sources and continually deepen knowledge of trends, practices, services and the competitive landscape.
- Utilize consultative selling skills, commercial playbook principals and call reporting plans to enhance the prospective client's experience.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Bachelor's or Master's in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years Commercial Banking or related financial services experience.
- Demonstrated connectivity with key business decision-makers and centers of influence in the community.
- Proven track record of building a strategy for identifying quality prospects, creating connectivity and providing solutions that lead to new business.
- Strong business acumen, to include detailed analytical skills, review of financial statements and general understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Commercial Lending, Treasury Management and Capital Markets solutions.
- Ability to assess prospect's needs, drivers of the decision-making process, and corporate/personal life-cycle-optimizing financial requirements.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits strong presentation skills in both large and small group settings. Proven ability to communicate with impact, with a particular emphasis on experience in face-to-face negotiations.
- Understands the audience and adjusts communication as is an appropriate level of detail for the audience; captures and holds the audience's attention.
- Proven ability to work in a team-based sales environment.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office 365 software and CRM sales tools.
- Regional /local travel.
