Summary: 

Job Responsibilities: 

1)  Responsible for directing the budgeting and financial statement review and communication to BHF leadership and BHF board responsibilities include the oversight of the BHF budget, endowments, and total BHF assets. Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including preparation of financial reports for BHF Board and committee meetings, and separate reporting for campaigns as needed. Responsible for the management of daily financial and operational activities for BHF. Develops policies and procedures based on best practices to ensure accountability and compliance of all BHF financial operations. Ensures budget and reconciliation processes are in place and implemented.

2)  Responsible for all BHF information systems and integration in collaboration with outside vendors, consultants, and BH Information Technology team to ensure effective data entry and capture of financial and all donor information. Responsible for assessment and utilization of fundraising software and other tools in support of financial activities and reporting. Oversees and implements online giving software and ensures implementation in support of the goals of BHF and its donors. Responsible for implementation of web-based giving and online acknowledgments for donors.

3)  Manages Data Team ensuring daily activities for posting, tracking, and acknowledging gifts are completed in a timely and efficient manner – in compliance with BHF policies, accounting principles, and charitable giving guidelines. Develops and engages all assigned team members to meet the current and future needs of the area.

4)  Responsible for working directly with entity and clincial leaders and department chairs in support of the utilization of TRFs.. Manages finance functions and activities for BHF including Temporarily Restricted Funds (TRFs), budget coordination and management, all financial controls, policies, licensing, Lawson activities, and Raiser's Edge reconciliations. Manages TRFs including the creation of new funds, signature approvals, and distributions.

5) Responsible for developing and tracking revenue and expenditures related to all activities of BHF including fundraising events, direct mail, and stewardship programs with meaningful analysis of revenue, costs of fundraising, and returns on investment, with recommendations for future strategies based on outcomes and other relevant information.

6)  Attends select BHF events to oversee financial operations. Ensures all remote location financial operations are organized and secure

7) Responsible for development and oversight of BHF budgets, processes and requests. Establishes and implements processes for new endowments and grants, and manages existing funds and reports to donors and fund beneficiaries/grant recipients.

8)  Manages relationships with Blackbaud and other database vendors and consultants. Ability to work with external consultants as needed to ensure that all processes reflect industry best practices – particularly as it relates to campaign council.
