We are currently hiring for: Packaging Buyer
As a Packaging Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of packaging materials essential for manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and logistics teams to secure high-quality packaging materials at competitive prices, while also maintaining inventory levels to support production schedules.
Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy – Develop and execute procurement strategies for packaging materials in alignment with organizational goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability of supply.

Supplier Management – Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with packaging suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize value and mitigate risks.

Demand Forecasting – Continuously seek opportunities to optimize costs through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, value engineering, and process improvements, while maintaining quality standards.

Quality Assurance – Ensure that packaging materials meet required quality standards and regulatory compliance, conducting supplier audits and implementing quality control measures as necessary.

Inventory Management – Monitor and manage packaging inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory, implementing inventory optimization techniques and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Continuous Improvement – Drive continuous improvement initiatives in packaging procurement processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, cost savings, and sustainability improvements.

Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and price fluctuations.

Collaboration – Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, logistics, quality assurance, and finance to ensure alignment of packaging procurement activities with overall business objectives.
Requirements:

4 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in the manufacturing industry with a focus on packaged materials.

Intermediate level of Microsoft Products (MSW, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools for procurement, inventory management and data analysis.

Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and sustainability practices related to packaging materials is desirable.
