Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Talent Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Kennesaw, GA.
The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for administering and facilitating work-related learning and development programs to improve individual skills or organizational performance. This entails designing and delivering classroom and web-based training programs as well as includes organizing training logistics, administration of learning management system, and coordination of operational activities that enable the successful design and execution of learning programs and projects.
What you’ll be doing:
- Use facilitation expertise to deliver best-in-class learning events and meetings in face-to-face and virtual environments, to employees of different abilities, job levels, and backgrounds, within the Yamaha Organization.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to establish timelines, coordinate resources, communicate to participants and revise course content to roll-out established learning programs on the L&D calendar.
- Learning Management System administration, including but not limited to licenses administration, managing rosters, loading ILT and eLearning courses, marking completions, supporting users with technical issues, and reporting & metrics.
- Oversee the maintenance of learning records, including curriculum materials for facilitators and participants in the course library.
- Assist with learning content development, defining learning objectives and researching and testing courses and presentations.
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs and collaborate on necessary revisions and changes to implement across the organization.
- Provide general support to the HR team, with other duties as assigned.
What you need to be successful:
- BS/BA degree in a business, communications, or learning-oriented field of study.
- 3 years of experience in designing and delivering learning programs in an ILT and Virtual environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of talent development industry practices and principles.
- Knows the critical differences in facilitating, teaching, and presenting; correctly interpreting and responding to learner reactions as the event unfolds; and managing disruptive learners as needed
- Able to foster positive learning environments for learners of all abilities, job levels and backgrounds
- Strong technical skills to deliver course content using multiple delivery options and media, including mobile/multiple devices, online, classroom, and multimedia
- Ability to assess the existing knowledge and skill level of learners and to adjust learning assets and delivery methods accordingly.
- Able to facilitate, coach, and consult with employees of all levels with respect and patience.
- Able to prioritize and work independently with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment and values collaborating with team members and key stakeholders
- Strong technical abilities, including LMS (Cornerstone Saba & SumTotal), FranklinCovey and LinkedIn Learning Administrator experience, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office including strong PowerPoint skills, and virtual facilitation techniques using MS Teams and Zoom including breakout rooms and polling.
Decision Making:
- Will have autonomy to make work related decisions on projects for which the position is responsible. More complex issues and L&D strategy should be escalated to positions higher up in the department job hierarchy.
