Description:

Job Summary: This position is responsible to administer payroll processing procedures to ensure timely, accurate payment of wages to all contract and permanent employees on a weekly basis. The position serves as a primary point of contact for Human Resources when addressing employee’s payroll- and benefits-related needs.

Duties:

Administers employee information in HRIS system including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, deductions, withholdings, and other personnel data.

  • Direct oversight of contract payroll processing, Reviews and submits final payroll for processing. Completes weekly payroll processing procedures for the office. Maintains accurate documentation of payroll records.
  • Maintains regular communication with HR and finance staff to streamline individual or company-wide requests and changes.
  • Prepares and enters payroll journal entries.
  • Reviews employee leaves of absence for accuracy, benefits submissions, and anticipated return.
  • Provides new employees with insurance benefit information and ensures timely enrollment into group insurance plan(s). Answers employee questions. Participates in annual open enrollment process as requested.
  • Point of contact with outside service for all drug screens, CORI and background checks necessary in hiring process.
  • Prepares employment letters for both contractor and client related to hiring process.
  • Reconciles benefits statements in an accurate and timely manner, preparing benefit worksheets for allocation to the appropriate department.
  • Accurately enters benefit billing statements into A/P system for payment and prepares related journal entries.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state wage & hour laws and HR best-practices, and work with Corporate Controller to implement policy changes as needed.
  • Provides back-up support for Accounting Department as needed.
  • Consistently maintains a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Performs other projects and tasks as requested.

Experience:

Minimum two years’ related experience and/or training preferred. Experience using Paycom or other HRIS system preferred.

Education:

Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State driver’s license required.

Pay: $28,998.00 - $89,394.00 per year
