The Senior Product Manager, Mobile Apps leads the mobile app squad to build compelling products and features that reduce friction and drive innovation within our iOS and Android eCommerce experiences. They are regarded as an expert in mobile app user experience and work with their stakeholder group to define a strategy, build a roadmap and guide delivery of our app releases. The Senior Product Manager, Mobile Apps also stays up-to-date with changes in technologies, tech policy and customer behavior to optimize our approach and maximize product outcomes. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following duties: Responsibilities Leverage behavioral data, customer feedback and business input to develop, prioritize and communicate strategy and roadmap for iOS and Android mobile apps Guide product decisions as an expert in customer experience field through knowledge of industry trends and best practices Create and maintain cross-functional relationships with departments across the company, including Research & Design, Digital Delivery, Customer Care, Store Operations, Marketing, and Merchandising, to understand needs and rally organizational support for initiatives Lead the mobile app squad to regularly discover, scope, build, and release new experiences Maintain a balanced product strategy that incorporates development of new initiatives and maintenance and improvement of existing initiatives Determine optimal approach to managing project dependencies and roadblocks and work cross-functionally with other departments to mitigate risks Define and communicate scope, set clear goals and success metrics for products, and communicate results throughout the product life cycle Maintain ongoing review of metrics pertaining to owned vertical(s), including periodic audits to uncover opportunities for optimization. Perform competitive analysis within and outside of the industry, introducing best practices and driving process changes where needed Champion and maintain relationships with vendor partners where applicable, ensuring smooth integration and regular performance review Additional duties and projects as required. Experience and Skills 4 - 6 years’ previous experience overseeing the development, implementation, and performance of digital products required, preferably in customer-facing mobile applications Clear sense of ownership and accountability for the success of the team, with a willingness to go deep into the details to solve problems when necessary Strong bias for action to work through uncertainty and ambiguity, to understand problems and solutions at a sufficient level to provide clear requirements and direction, to learn new systems or tools, and to foster a collaborative cross-functional environment where positive outcomes are achieved Ability to strategically break down customer problems or stakeholder requests into an actionable plan and to align stakeholders and teams behind a common objective and success criteria Excellent communication, providing timely updates with relevant information to key stakeholders on an ongoing basis Required Education and/or Experience Demonstrated success in a startup or change-management environment. Background in project or product management, including the use and optimization of product management tools such as Jira (or related project tracking applications). Demonstrated success managing project budgets, timelines and resources. Experience working within an Agile development environment. Bachelor's Degree in business or computer related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Computer and/or Technical Skills Should have fluent knowledge and abilities with G Suite toolset or Microsoft equivalents. Strong appreciation for Cloud based (and SaaS) applications. Business level understanding of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and XML, SOAP/REST/WEB services. Previous work in QA & UAT of digital applications. Core Competencies Communication Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, employees, and the general public. Provide executive-level summaries of project status for presentation at monthly project Steering Committees. Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret and utilize a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
