Fior di Sole is a family-owned and operated wine company located in the heart of Napa Valley, producing exceptional quality wines from Napa and throughout California for over 24 years. Summary:
Responsible for coordination of wine production activities through the full cycle (crush through bottling). Work within a team environment and across other departments to ensure the highest quality of wine.

Requirements
You Will:
- Create and analyze samples throughout the life cycle of wine (crush, fermentation, clarification, aging, blending, bottling); document the progress of juice/wine over time.
- Sensory analysis of wine. Identify flaws and suggest/implement solutions to improve quality or correct errors.
- Prepare work orders. For example, grape receiving, nutrient additions, racking, sulfur additions, lees processing, wine transfers, barrel toping, bulk wine movements, cross flow filtration, etc.
- Perform winemaking bench trials such as fining, bentonite, and blending.
- On a weekly basis, monitor inventory levels for winemaking additives. Make purchase orders for wine additives and participate in annual inventory.
- Review lab analysis, specifically monthly free SO2, total SO2, and VA on tanks in storage.
- Maintain wine IBC inventory; taste and record small wine lots, keeping them organized.
- On a rotating schedule, taste incoming lees totes and write filtration work orders.
- Schedule biweekly tastings of filtered tanks for fining and/or blending.
- Monitor weekly analysis and tasting of MOX tanks.
- With the Assistant Winemakers, help in the set-up/breakdown of MOX lines.
- Working with Winemakers, prepare bottling project paperwork and samples.
- Some grape sampling before harvest may be required.
- During harvest, daily checks for Brix, temperature, and taste on all fermentations.
- Work with offsite partner wineries to request samples, track inventory, and schedule shipping of bulk wine.
- Work with the winemaking and cellar team to promote and to enforce safety in all areas.
- Work with compliance to ensure adherence to all legal/regulatory practices and recordkeeping requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned
You Have:
- Four-year degree in Enology, Viticulture, Fermentation, Food Science, etc. required, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with Word, Excel, and Google Sheets required.
- Experience with other MS Office suites such as Outlook and Access is a plus
- Experience with Winemakers Database is a plus
- Demonstrated accuracy in simple and complex mathematical calculations • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and research skills
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Ability to prepare reports and analyze data with a high level of scrutiny and care.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Strong eye on safety, work as liaison to risk management team to ensure a safe and productive work environment
- Availability to work long hours (12 or more hours per shift) in critical periods
- Bilingual in Spanish a huge plus but not required
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stretch, reach, grasp, crawl, climb, crouch, reach, turn, and kneel, all for long periods (8 hours of more per day)
- Must be able to see and read documents, as well as visually recognize flaws (or other indicators) in wine/juice samples; must have a highly developed sense of smell and taste
