A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

In this role, you manage all field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that we can complete projects on time and within the budget. To do this, you maintain or update schedules, order materials, schedule inspections, and handle reporting. In addition, you prepare all daily and weekly reporting, including safety reports and two-week previews of schedules. Some of your other duties include preparing, scheduling, and supervising final punch lists. You supervise work to complete punch lists and ensure everyone understands their roles in the process. You're also in charge of cost and quality control. You do this by ensuring adherence to budgets, inspecting all work, and obtaining AWAs with signatures. As needed, you perform various carpentry tasks, finishing work, and cleanup.

To promote a safe environment, you monitor job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and immediately rectify job site hazards. You also conduct safety meetings and verify that each subcontractor has completed their contractual requirements. Every day, you communicate in a practical and healthy manner to resolve issues. You make sure to establish healthy leadership and keep everyone on the same page. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

• 3 years of experience working in a professional commercial construction environment
• Strong accountability and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain strong working relationships
• Leadership skills
