Works closely with assigned Corporate Bankers to manage a portfolio of Corporate Banking clients. Oversees, along with Corporate Banker(s), receipt and ongoing review of client financial statements and reporting packages. Ensures credit quality standards are executed. Communicates with Credit executives regarding details of portfolio performance and credit metrics. Continually strives to build upon knowledge and enhance credit analysis skills. Participates in sales calls and is active in various community events, civic and charitable organizations.
Essential Job Responsibilities__________________________________
1. Conducts financial statement, covenant and collateral analysis of Corporate Banking clients. Assists in discussions and due diligence on existing and prospective clients. Oversees portfolio analysis and assist in deal structuring and legal document review and negotiation.
2. In collaboration with Corporate Banker(s), manages and grows a portfolio of companies and meets annual goals established by management. Portfolio size may vary based on length of service and management decisions.
3. Cultivates new business opportunities from existing and potential corporate clients and cross-sells in order to meet client needs and deepen relationships.
4. Ensures credit underwriting, due diligence and credit quality standards are executed. Continually strives to build upon knowledge and enhance credit analysis skills.
5. Provides portfolio information on a timely basis to be included as part of credit analysis and performance reports. Develop a continuous improvement mindset with respect to credit performance reports, cross sell effectiveness, and opportunities to improve processes.
6. Monitors client financial performance versus plan objectives and financial covenants on a regular basis; discusses the performance with supervisor on a frequent basis.
7. Performs "maintenance calls", conducts "follow-up", with Corporate Banker and assists in credit collection work as necessary for assigned accounts.
8. Reports credit deterioration promptly and works with Special Assets to mitigate potential losses.
9. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all corporate banking products and services.
10. Services the immediate needs of the clients by performing the following with Corporate Banker(s):
a. Analyzes, with credit analysis staff, the creditworthiness of their clients and prospects.
b. Seeks additional approvals or policy exceptions as necessary.
c. Oversees proper execution of documents in accordance with bank policy.
d. Closes the transaction.
e. Understands the credit strengths and weaknesses of clients
f. Monitors borrower's performance and communicates to management and the credit department.
g. Answers questions on loans and other accounts, assists with payments and past due loan payments.
h. Processes advances from lines of credit, or multi-advance loans.
i. Prepares, confirms, and initiates wire transfers.
j. Researches issues, provides solutions, and prepares maintenances.
k. Works with Treasury Management to establish necessary accounts and ancillary services for deposits.
l. Other ongoing client and portfolio tasks as needed to assist the team
11. Works with Portfolio Specialist team for direct assignment of client administrative responsibilities to include documentation, loan closing, financial statement reporting and ongoing loan management.
12. Works with the Credit Analysis Department to ensure that the analysis packages are thorough and correct.
13. Completes and presents Modification forms, Criticized Asset Committee Memos, Semi-Annual Line Sheets and any other necessary reports, as needed.
14. Participates in sales calls, as assigned.
15. Prepares reports to summarize analysis of borrowers' financial condition and capacity to repay debt. Prepares loan request submissions for Credit Committee or other approving authorities.
16. Values collateral when necessary, reviews appraisals and assesses collateral coverage.
17. Recommends assigned Risk Ratings.
18. Follows assigned accounts, in conjunction with portfolio specialist, to ensure financial statements are received timely and evaluated at least quarterly to assess borrower risk.
19. Assists Corporate Bankers in gathering information relevant to analyzing the borrower.
20. Coordinates the daily workflow in and out of the area to ensure that current loans are in complete conformity with the terms.
21. Assists in providing direct service to commercial clients of the bank with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services. Develops expertise in all applicable processes and systems to ensure they are all leveraged. Strives to improve cycle times and client experience.
22. Assists clients in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; assists clients with specific inquiries or service problems.
23. Prepares and maintains accurate records of all client service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective clients.
24. Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________
1. A Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance related field, and/or equivalent experience required.
2. A minimum of three (3) years of credit analysis experience and demonstrated portfolio management skills required. Business development skills, preferred.
3. Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence others, as well as strong computer and analytical skills are necessary.
4. A valid driver's license and travel, including some overnight stays, are required.
