Part-Time Accompanist
First Lutheran Church of Saint Joseph Missouri
First Lutheran Church is a growing congregation in the heart of St. Joseph. We believe God is calling us to be an even more dynamic community by creating worship experiences that engage, nourish, and strengthen all through the power of the Holy Spirit to go out into the world to bring about God’s vision. We have a rich history in diverse music with very talented congregation members. We are searching for an Accompanist / Music Coordinator to strengthen our current music ministry while helping us identify new opportunities. Our hope is to build and expand our music and worship ministries. This leader is responsible for providing accompaniment for worship and rehearsals.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Accompanies worship service. During worship services, accompanies soloists and musical offering ensembles as needed.
- Assistant in a timely fashion and submits music usage information to CCLI and
- Accompanies Praise Team rehearsal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Qualifications
- Proficient in piano required, experience playing organ preferred.
- Experience accompanying ensembles and soloists.
- Ability to lead ensemble (Praise Team) in rehearsal and worship.
Interpersonal Qualifications
- Ability to work collegially with pastor, staff, and other musicians of various ages and musical experiences.
Other Qualifications
- Degree in music preferred
- Ability to learn and help others to learn new music.
HOURS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a salaried twelve-month position with salary paid monthly. Salary is commensurate with experience. Hours vary but are typically one hour for Praise Team rehearsal a week, Sunday mornings from 8:45-10:45 and randomly scheduled rehearsal time for any scheduled music offerings.
