What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Administrator I position at First Mid?
Responsible for supervising Customer Service and Administrative aspects of accounts assigned to key producer(s). May directly manage other team members including CSRs or assistants. Responsible for retaining renewals, marketing new business and overseeing customer accounts. Represents First Mid Insurance Group and acts as an advocate for customers, partnering with our insurance companies and working as a team to meet the client’s needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivers outstanding customer service at all times, including proactively anticipating customer needs, maintain frequent and professional customer communication and responding quickly to service requests.
- Maintains high degree of technical competence and industry/market expertise.
- Maintains policy expiration list to insure timely renewal and delivery of policies.
- Monitors accounts receivable balances on assigned accounts.
- Cross-sell insurance and bank services in a professional manner.
- Complete required training associated with job function.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and two years’ experience in insurance preferred or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance.
Experience:
- Both an Illinois Insurance Producers license and a valid Illinois Drivers license are required for this role. First Mid will facilitate training and testing for additional licensure as needed.
- Prior work with Excel, Word, and related software is required.
Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of insurance products and coverages.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and thoroughness, with special emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- High level of organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work respectively with diverse populations both internally and externally.
- Ability to empathize with customers and to respond appropriately.
- Thorough knowledge of Accord forms.
- May be required to work earlier or later than the normal workday and may be required to work outside of the office to facilitate extended hours or customer visits.
