Job Description/ Duties
The Universal Banker is a dual purpose role which requires an employee to fulfill the responsibilities a Teller and a Customer Service Representative. The time spent in each role will be determined by the needs of the branch and may vary. The Universal Banker is responsible for advising customer in their selection of financial service products and services, and processing transactions. Will develop new relationships and expand existing ones by being viewed as a trusted advisor. The Universal Banker will follow sound ethical banking practices and adhere to bank regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities
Key Teller Responsibilities (Primary Role)
Functions as a trained teller, accurately process deposits /withdrawals for consumer and business clients.
Cashes checks, processes savings withdrawals and cash advances.
Issues official checks, gift cards, debit cards, and other instruments.
Performs other branch operations and service-related work (e.g., account maintenance, check ordering, loan payments etc.) as determined by management.
Assists in opening and closing the branch and vault daily; assists in balancing vault currency and coin; balances ATM, process night deposit bags scans teller proof work, etc.
Maintains knowledge of security and safety policies and strictly adheres to established procedures, follows established internal controls, including dual control.
Key Customer Service Representative Responsibilities (Secondary Role)
Proactively advises consumer and business clients in their selection of various accounts, loans and other products and financial services utilizing Jack Henry Platform and Deposit Pro.
Ensures client satisfaction is met or exceeded at pre-planned regular intervals on-boarding, periodic
e-mails or calls, life-cycle events, etc.
Assists customers with wires, stop payments, account maintenance, documentation, disputes and other required paperwork and documentation utilizing technology and resources available.
Other Key Performance Measures
After SDB training, performs safe deposit box duties (where applicable)
Obtains commission as Missouri Notary Public
Attend all training sessions as required and may assist in training new employees
Authorized to provide over-rides in vertex for other tellers
Participates in assembling/selling cash to Federal Reserve
No supervisory responsibilities
Approximately 80% of time is spent on teller duties and 20% is spent as a CSR.
Provide over-rides and has moderate cash limit authority
Qualifications
Required Experience
One year teller experience preferred; College degree or relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute for teller/banking experience.
Proven ability to meet or exceed goals
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Solid problem solving and decision making ability.
Skilled at learning on the fly-is a versatile and relentless learner.
Salary : $36,300 - $46,000
