Summary:
Provides customer service for banking customer that involve monetary transactions and ability to balance a teller drawer daily. Job Requirements:
High School Diploma
Good Interpersonal and training skills
Good mathematical ability
Organizations skills
Proficient in operating a PC, calculator, money counter
Ability to interact with public, lifting 35 lbs., sitting, standing, and squatting
Specific Job Functions:
Provides comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer service of financial institution transactions.
Cash checks or savings withdrawals and payout money after verifying that date of instrument, signatures are correct and that written and numerical amounts agree, and the accounts have sufficient funds to process the transaction. Enter each transaction into teller system to ensure proper update of bank and main computer system.
Receives checks and cash for deposits to checking and savings accounts, verifies amounts examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.
Balance ATM as requested
Receives payments for mortgages, consumer and other loans and prepares receipts.
Enter customers’ transactions into computers in order to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
Process incoming and outgoing collection items, noting due dates and expiration dates.
Sell travelers checks, Cashier’s checks, and money orders
Order a supply of cash to meet daily needs
Assist customers with cash advances and process related general ledger tickets.
Cross sell other bank products.
Balances cash drawer at the end of the day and compares totaled amount to computer generated proof sheet. Reports and discrepancies in their drawer to the Head Teller, Operations Manager and Chief Administration Officer
Ensures that the lobby area is properly stocked and maintained.
Promptly reports malfunctions of lobby equipment to supervisors.
Place Reg CC holds on accounts when required.
OFAC checks when required.
Prepare CTR report and mail to proper authorities
Assist other departments with duties when called upon
Cross train in other areas of the bank
Daily Duties
Handle all monetary transactions that are presented at a teller window – Cash checks, take deposits, sell money orders, Cashier Checks, Visa gift car, cash advances
Cross sell bank products
Receive payments from Loan Customers
Balance teller balance sheets to EZ Teller Super View Reports Daily
Run and Balance Proof scanner batch and transmit to IT Department Daily
Wait on lobby customer and also drive in customers
Balance vault, count vault daily disperse money to other teller as needed from vault and make entries.
Balance replenish and record all entries to ATM daily
Answer telephone as needed
Pick up and sort mail daily
Assist customer with opening and entering safe deposit boxes
Request and update phone and email address changes from bank customer
Weekly
Order and stock all supplies for tellers in storage area
Call for all service repairs needed on any equipment
Any other duties as assigned
Verify weekly cash order
Yearly
Complete any E-Learning or Teller classes as assigned
Adheres to teller limits for outage of $300.00 over or short
