What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Banker position at First National Bank of Michigan?
The Personal Banker is responsible for developing a positive rapport with the customer base, performing accurate and efficient financial transactions, and providing resolutions to customer requests. This role is responsible for recommending and opening new accounts and additional products and services in an effort to grow and retain customer relationships. The Personal Banker will assist with the mentoring and training of new and less experienced Tellers. The personal banker assumes a leadership role in supervising the branch operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of retail banking experience is required.
Additional Information
- Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees is required.
- Comprehensive mathematical skills required.
- Proven leadership skills, effective coaching and mentoring abilities experience required.
- Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with computers, telephone, 10-key calculator, and other office machinery.
- Ability to make sound decisions; making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank’s exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
- Proven confidentiality
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the Bank’s needs, customer and employee goodwill, and the public image.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking regulations, Teller roles, and the responsibilities relating to each.
- Positive, collaborative, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Communications – Comprehend and use basic language, either written and spoken to communicate information and ideas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
