What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Caretaker - Loadout position at First Resources Corp?
JOB PURPOSE
Moves and loads market hogs from within the finisher farms on to the trailer to be transported to the plant for processing.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Proper use of tools for appropriate and effortlessness during movement
- Loading and unloading pigs as scheduled
- Perform and carry out all tasks and job functions, including loading, unloading, and moving market hogs to livestock pens; moving market hogs; moving stressed pigs; operating a captive bolt gun for proper euthanization
- Responsible for humane handling and animal welfare practices
- Abide strict safety guidelines and company animal welfare standards
- Keep accurate inventory records of livestock
- Ability to identify visual symptoms of common swine diseases and treat sick animals
- Sort off and segregate hogs with disqualifying physical defects
- Achieve TQA certification with the National Pork Board

REQUIREMENTS
- No education or experience required.
- Basic math skills
- Flexible and able to work on assigned weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful, but not require
- Must be able to work in farm environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
