Position Summary
The Banking Intern will be able to grow personally and professionally through real-life work experiences and mentoring relationships. This position will support operational and customer service functions at First Southern National Bank in Bowling Green, KY. The intern will perform a variety of projects and tasks, gaining exposure to all aspects of bank operations.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions and assisting customers.
- Shadow and support prospecting and business development efforts.
- Attend various loan committee meetings to get total exposure to bank lending.
- Represent First Southern to the customer both in conduct and appearance in a courteous, professional manner.
- Participate actively and constructively in cross-functional teams as needed.
- Experience training and development from various team members in all bank departments.
- Comply with information security requirements related to the protection of non-public customer information.
- Meet with a mentor regularly to discuss personal growth and development.
- Build relationships both internally and externally through community outreach and events.
Skills / Talents
- Be a degree-seeking student at an accredited college/university or a current high school junior or senior.
- Demonstrated interest in the industry through past work experience, internships, or coursework.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in relationship building.
- Highly motivated and resourceful.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
