What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Clerk position at First Transit?

Job Purpose: Performs all administrative functions in the Human Resources and Safety departments. Interfaces with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares correspondence, schedule meetings, sort/distribute mail, maintain and orders supplies for the departments.
- Address employees’ queries in regards to benefits, direct deposits, uniforms, etc.
- Prepares onboarding and new hire documentation.
- Maintains employee records; personnel, training, medical and Drug & Alcohol files.
- Assist the DER in reviewing random list and coordinating with the departments and/or collectors.
- Maintain and accurately update various databases for ADA, CDL, DOT and uniforms. Prepare ad-hoc reports.
- Review DVR’s and record footage.
- Assist in putting together files for the ARB process.
- Maintain Lost and Found program
Experience & Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Less than 2 years human resources operations.
- Capability of learning new knowledge of FTA regulations.
- Office, data entry, or administrative experience a plus.
- Experience with MS Office products preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
