Looking for staff to work part time, weekend and evening hours in multiple locations. Staff must be willing to work with individuals who have dual diagnoses (mental health and intellectual disability).
The DSP Coach is responsible for assisting the people served by the agency to lead a self-directed life. This includes coaching individuals to realize their potential by refining skills and abilities, learning about healthy lifestyles, securing and maintaining employment or involvement in the community and living in housing of their choice. The specific tasks the DSP will be expected to perform depends on the needs and interests of the people supported. FIRSTwnc calls the DSP staff "coaches" as they facilitate individuals served by the Innovations Waiver in exploring their needs, motivations, desires, skills and thought processes to assist them in making meaningful choices.
We are looking for employees who have strong communication skills, good judgment, empathy, dedication, organizational skills, level-headed attitude and a passion for the work.
The Coach will provide assistance to individuals in the Asheville area. The Coach will assist with Adult Daily Living Skills (ADLs), cleaning, cooking, meal planning, errands, taking care of pets, doing laundry, personal care and hygiene, etc. The position is flexible, however evening and weekend hours are required. This position will require work on some holidays. Reliable transportation is needed for this position. Part time hours only.
