Role and Responsibilities
· Conduct interviews to determine client’s needs and gather demographic information.
· Direct clients to services, external services as well as internal services (food, medical services, clothing, miscellaneous household goods, energy assistance, and shelter).
· Distribute, as necessary, food, clothing, hygiene products and other items as required.
· Coach and follow-up with recurring clients to validate they are taking appropriate steps toward self-sufficiency.
· Data entry skills: accurately entering information into client database.
· Handle incoming phone calls, mail, emails, manage internal reporting and prepare/send correspondence.
· Train & Schedule regular volunteers.
· Miscellaneous administrative support, as needed.
· Collaborate with other social service organizations or community agencies
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Minimum of 2 years of office experience preferred
· Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel Mandatory, Access and Publisher a Plus) necessary
· Strong customer service/people skills/problem solving skills
· Strong verbal & written communication skills
· Ability to adapt to changes quickly; multi-tasking skills necessary.
· Ability to establish good relationships as a community liaison.
· Bi-lingual skills are very helpful, but not required (English/Spanish and/or American Sign Language).
· Confidentiality and Empathy is a MUST.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
