SUMMARY: 

At Fisher Auto Parts, the Regional Manager represents a position that directs and aligns the activities of assigned stores with the operational interests of the company. This position reports to the Zone Manager for the Northern/Southern Zone within their assigned geographical boundaries. The Regional Manager must be knowledgeable in all facets of store (and warehouse operations, where applicable) and be fully committed to inspiring our store and distribution teams to succeed, while instilling the greatest levels of customer service within their given market. The Regional Manager’s personal drive to grow the business in a profitable manner (and) with the highest level of integrity is paramount for success in this position. Success in this role will be accomplished through the consistent direction and execution of all company objectives, policies and procedures in a way that is aligned with Fisher’s core values of offering “the best quality at very competitive prices.” At Fisher Auto Parts, “Service to our customers is our primary objective.”

KEY METRICS:

The Regional Manager is accountable for all facets of assigned store (and warehouse operations, if applicable) including: 

  • Effectively directing the day to day business with assigned stores (and any assigned warehouse facilities) in such a way that all regional objectives are realized and aligned with the company’s core values;  

  • Ensuring that sales and expense priorities are monitored so that all assigned stores (and any assigned warehouse facilities) achieve and/or exceed budgeted financial goals including accounts receivable objectives;  

  • Ensuring that an atmosphere of safety and respect for associates and customers exists in assigned stores at all times. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES:

  • Commitment to consistent growth in assigned stores with a focus on exceeding all sales, margins, payroll and profit goals, with particular emphasis on accounts receivable and credit/collection objectives;  

  • Monitors and offers direction in association with “authorized” inventory to ensure maximum profitability and product availability;  

  • Provides input to Store Manager into effective pricing strategies within competitive markets;  Oversees compliance for safety and security throughout assigned stores (and any assigned warehouse facilities);  

  • Sets the example for the highest standards of customer service, which may include customer and associates complaints / concerns;  

  • Directs appearance and merchandising for assigned stores;  

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic wholesale / retail environment;  

  • Ability to make sound, common sense business decisions;  

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, direct reports and corporate management, both verbally and in writing;  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse population and workforce; 

  • Directs the selection, hiring, training, development and retention processes for quality associates, as needed;  

  • Provides operational oversight to both store, outside sales associates (and any assigned warehouse facilities);  

  • Coordinates and sets the example for assigned associate’s performance;  

  • Mentors associates to ensure successful outcomes / results;  

  • Ability to ensure effective and efficient use of all available resources in a cost effective manner;  

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stores, associates, customers, office and warehouse support staff, peers and supervisors;  

  • Ability to monitor labor hours and payroll costs in assigned stores;  

  • Ability to think in terms of overall store leadership and business objectives;  

  • Ability to effectively coach and teach store associates and warehouse employees, where applicable, to reach their full potential; 

  • Ability to understand all facets of the store operations model including inventory management, counter sales, stocking levels, warehousing, parts distribution and delivery systems;  

  • Strong organizational and motivational skills;  

  • Utilization of all available tools regarding marketing, training and customer technology programs as a means of increasing sales and market share.  

  • Familiar in the use of computerized systems and applications to include, electronic parts catalog, inventory control, time calculation, cash, invoicing and credit systems; 

  •  Ability to monitor all activity within assigned stores, (assigned warehouse facilities) and outside sales / delivery programs, thus ensuring safe, effective and productive results while driving key business objectives including the reduction or elimination of at-fault accidents;  

  • Ability to manage time effectively;  

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems; 

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area preferred;  

  • 5 years of prior experience managing others in a wholesale/retail environment;  

  • A valid driver’s license is a requirement of this position (MVR Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date) and satisfactory MVR must be maintained;  

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test;  

  • Ability and willingness to travel based on company needs and special projects;  

  • ASE Certification preferred, but not necessary at time of hire;  

  • Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver’s Handbooks, which will be provided at the time of hire; 

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule that would allow you to work an assortment of days, evenings and/or weekends (as needed) designed to provide quality service, while successfully growing the business with profitability and integrity.

  • The Regional Manager may infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with tools provided. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
