What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend custodian position at Fitometry Health Club?
We are a new and innovative health club in need of Janitor to uphold the cleaning standards for our second shift. We are looking for a reliable and skilled person who understands the importance that the role custodian plays in an organization .
As the custodian, you will be part of a team that upholds high cleaning standards and safety as a top priority .
Responsibilities
- General building maintenance inside and outside
- Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects
- Clean, monitor and maintain locker rooms, offices, and general areas
- Empty trash cans for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment
- Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies
- Follow housekeeping schedule
- Landscaping
- Engage in repair activities when needed
- Daily cleaning of bathrooms;
- Daily cleaning of all lunch / break rooms;
- Maintain clean external environment around all employee entrances
- Maintain levels of all cleaning & paper supplies;
- Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant situations
- Use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers
- Moving equipment, supplies, and furniture
- Informing managers about required repair and maintenance activities
- Reports maintenance concerns via work ests to appropriate personnel
- Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked / unlocked as required
- Maintains friendly, efficient, positive guest service demeanor towards guests, clients and co-workers
- Other duties as assigned, as required by the scope of work or customer needs
- Sometimes subject to external weather conditions
- Overtime and some weekends required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of experience;
- experience as a custodian, janitor or similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
- Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load; and
- Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, self-motivated, creative and innovative
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs;
- Must be able to sustain physical work for 8 hours per day including standing, reaching and pulling
