POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources Manager and the overall HR function within the Pedricktown, NJ, distribution center. This fulltime, onsite position is responsible for various administrative tasks related to recruitment, employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, time and attendance, engagement, and other HR activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- HR Operations:
- Serve as a ‘first point of contact’ for crew member questions and concerns
- Assist with the coordination and execution of engagement activities
- Support the local and network HR team with any HR related information gathering, data requests, etc.
- Recruitment Support:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process.
- Conduct initial screenings of candidates and maintain applicant tracking system.
- Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Coordinate new hire orientations and assist in the onboarding process.
- Ensure that new hire tasks are completed prior to start date.
- Conduct exit interviews and assist with offboarding procedures.
- Benefits Enrollment:
- Support employees in understanding and enrolling in company-sponsored benefits programs, such as healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
- Coordinate benefit enrollment processes, including communicating enrollment deadlines.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including changes, updates, and terminations.
- Time & Attendance:
· Utilize timekeeping system to accurately record employee work hours, including regular hours, overtime, and any paid time off.
· Monitor and review time records for accuracy and completeness.
· Track employee attendance and absences, including tardiness and unauthorized leaves.
· Enforce company time and attendance policies consistently and fairly.
- HR Administration:
- Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in updating HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Handle employee inquiries and provide support on HR-related matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 1 year prior experience in a Human Resources role or administrative support role preferred.
· Familiarity with recruitment processes and procedures.
· Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in tasks.
· Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
· Energetic, with the ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple competing assignments.
· Ability to work independently and be self-directed in a fast paced environment.
· Availability to work flexible schedule based on building needs
· Bilingual in Spanish (not required but a plus).
