What is Fizz
Fizz is a social app that allows students to connect with their campus. Each Fizz community has a private and moderated feed of anonymous posts, authored by verified students, providing the most entertaining, relatable, and interesting conversations about student life.
Students can post questions, memes, polls, and chat with other verified students while maintaining control over their identity and privacy. Fizz communities prioritize safety, authenticity, and inclusion through community-based moderation.
Founded by two Stanford dropouts, Fizz is currently expanding to colleges across the US with a mission to redefine the “social network” in a time when legacy platforms lack authenticity and are filled with curated highlight reels.
What we’ve done
We first launched Fizz at Stanford in July 2021 and have since seen >95% of undergraduates join the app, half of which use Fizz every day. Since then, we have raised over $41 million from NEA, Owl Ventures, and Lightspeed, built a rock-solid engineering team with decades of experience at top tech companies, and expanded Fizz to be the dominant community platform at 200 colleges.
Where we’re going
Our 2024 goals are twofold: rapidly expand to all US universities and prove that we can achieve scale in markets beyond college. This is a critical role for us, as you’ll be responsible for a team of 15 that oversees go-to-market activities and engagement-driving app content within our campus communities. This is a people leader role, with great emphasis on people growth.
You MUST be currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate to be considered for this role. This is an onsite position based out of our Palo Alto, CA office and will report directly to our CEO.
\n- Lead the function that’s responsible for go-to-market and community health within our campus communities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 15 entry-level marketing staff
- Strategize and lead the execution for go-to-market activities
- Analyze community metrics and utilize them to formulate and execute growth strategies to increase users and user engagement
- Collaborate with Engineering and Executive teams to build brand new user experiences for our existing markets and new markets
- Lead the development of creative marketing assets, including social media content, videos, email campaigns, website content, blog posts, and advertisements
- Proactive in identifying areas of opportunity to optimize the team and gain efficiencies
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, inclusion, and fun
- 5 years of progressive experience leading a marketing, social media, or customer service team, preferably in the social media or similar technology space
- Proven ability to successfully lead and mentor a team of entry-level professionals
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing growth strategies
- Must be interested in internet/social media culture and familiar with the latests trends
- Experience working in tech start-up environments preferred
- Familiarity with trends in the college/university space a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or a related field

Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
