What are the responsibilities and job description for the COOK- Per Diem position at FLACRA?

the cook is responsible for daily kitchen operations. The following duties will apply:

Duties

  • Oversee all activities pertaining to the kitchen and dining room.
  • Ensure proper food preparation and handling.
  • Assist with the preparation and service of well balanced meals for residential clients.
  • Assist with train for and supervise kitchen and dining room activities perform by clients completing community service.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with health department, OASAS and Food Link.
  • Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency.
  • Accommodate clients regarding special dietary needs.
  • Ensure kitchen workers follow approved menus.
  • Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Other Skills/Knowledge And Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers.
  • Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving skills and the ability to remain calm in crisis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort within community and crisis services
  • Computer literacy required, specifically Word and Excel experience.

Job Requirements

Experience with E-Record preferred. CASAC preferred.

  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency. Food service experience is required.. Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
